What I love most about movies (on the rare occasion these days that I watch one) is the imaginary; seeing places, meeting people, and experiencing things at the theater or in my own living room. I noticed a few props that I would love to have for everyday use in my own home to make the housework, diaper changing, and stress a little better.
Here are a few items on my Make Mom’s Life Easier wish list…
What: You know, those stick things in Harry Potter.
Why: Because it just really sucks being a Muggle
sometimes all the time.
What: These little rabbit eared creatures in the world of Harry Potter that ‘serve’ a family. Equally as creepy looking as the Elf-on-the-Shelf.
Why: Cooking, cleaning, diaper changes, bug killing, grocery shopping, coffee making, toilet scrubbing, and all that other domestic stuff that make me anxious.
Mary Poppins’ Carpet Bag
What: It’s this fabulous bag she carries.
Why: Although it looks to be the same size as those bulky diapers bags we carry around, hers is a little more spacious. Inside she carries a lamp, a hat stand, a house plant, wall mirror, and a tape measure. I’ve only got an empty wallet and smashed Goldfish crackers in my purse.
What: If you aren’t one of those Doctor Who weirdos (like moi), the TARDIS is a blue police call box that travels through time and space. Also, it comes with the Doctor.
Why: I’d never have to worry about forgetting stuff because I could always go back, start over, and get it right. I would also use it to skip Mondays.
What: So Deloreans are the most 80′s car ever and they really do exist, but I am specifically referring to the one that has a Flux Capacitor.
Why: It uses a Mr. Fusion and is fueled by garbage. The first green-automobile of its kind. More importantly, D.C. traffic might bother me a little less if I had a time machine to just skip the stress, anxiety, and road rage.
What movie prop do you think could make your life easier?
